Kaya (Deluxe Edition) - Bob Marley & The Wailers

by prkcz They could've done this so much better. The audio quality on the second "disc" is horrible not to mention that they excise live versions of 2 Kaya songs from the original live set (why??). And really, one bonus track (not even unreleased) on the first disc?! It is known that there are other Kaya era tracks that could've been added (horn versions anyone?). They haven't lived up to the quality of their earlier deluxe editions for Bob Marley & The Wailers albums. Kaya is such a beautiful album and it deserves better than this.

by Dubradik If Marley was alive today this is would not be the deluxe edition of his album! unfortunately the new deluxe edition is produced by a group of capitalists who are just out to make a buck under the Marley name. Bob was a perfectionist and would have added dub mixes, unreleased music, and better quality sounds. I listened to these song when it was released as a cassette and vinyl, then CD and now this is what we get after 20 years? The Marley family need to dispose of the group who put this CD out, it is a shame. Come we go bun down babylon one more time!

by JazzReview Marking its release 35 years ago, Island's Kaya is a masterpiece and here features 24 remastered tracks: originals, Smile Jamaica and an unreleased Dutch concert. Worth the extra, with hits that remain timeless and among Marley's all-time best.
